Sailing and Seamanship Courses

COURSE 1: A DAY ON THE BAY

Our introductory course; a one day quick start in learning to sail. Covers the basics about sailing and sailboats, how they work, the equipment, the instruments, sail trim and an introduction to helmsman ship. It’s a complete sailing experience with an emphasis on safety, fun and rapid learning.

Time: 5 hours

COURSE 2: RAPID ADVANCE

A 3-day course for progressive skill development. Building on the learnings of Course I, days 2 and 3 provide several hours at each of the various crewing positions, and plenty of time at the helm. Charts, tides, currents, basic navigation, knots, and basic sailing rules of the road.

Time: 15 hours

COURSE 3: SERIOUS SAILOR

A 5-day course in varying conditions; covers a full range of topics on sailing and seamanship. Designed to move the student well into the sport, flexible scheduling. A fair amount of reading required between sessions. Includes an exam and a certificate upon completion.

Time: 25 hours

COURSE 4: CORPORATE CHALLENGE

Custom designed for team building, client development and leadership training. A full day of private instruction in sailing and seamanship, and a series of exercises focusing on teamsmanship and group dynamics. Includes some friendly competition.
